Community Recycling Awareness Grant
About the Grant
The Community Recycling Awareness Grant was created by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District to help local governments in Cuyahoga County promote recycling to residents.
Project Criteria
The District is seeking to fund projects that increase residents’ awareness and participation in community-sponsored recycling programs. Types of activities that are eligible include the following:
- Public space recycling containers or event recycling containers
- Recycling brochures, newsletters, fliers, etc.
- Advertising
- Video production or PSA production for community cable programming
- Recycling signage
- Special waste collection events and shredding events
2014 Community Recycling Awareness Grant application deadline will be February, 2014. The 2014 application will be siminlar to the 2013 application.
2013 Recycling Awareness Grant awards
In March, the District awarded a total $161,347 in grants to thirty-eight communities for recycling awareness and education. Since this grant was started in 2007, over $653,000 grants have been provided to 51 communities in Cuyahoga County. View 2013 grant awards.
